In early 1941, the German military began their conquest of southern Europe. Due to the warmer climates of these areas, the German Army needed to equip its troops with a more suitable form of dress, and replace the standard wool based feldgrau uniforms. The new "tropical" uniforms were lighter in weight, and dyed in colors ranging from light tan to dark olive.
This 100% authentic German World War Two M43 Heer Tropical Tunic is in mint condition. The tunic is made out of lightweight Herringbone Twill (HBT) material which has been dyed a darker olive/tan. The tunic features a machine applied BeVo tropical Heer Breast eagle, machine applied tropical EM collar litzen, machine applied tropical NCO collar tress, and machine applied Afrika Korps cuff-title on the lower right sleeve; all in near mint condition.
The slip-on pink piped tropical shoulder boards are also in near mint condition. The front of the tunic has five original blue painted buttons for the main closure, and four pocket buttons; all of which show only minimal wear to the high points. All buttons are held in place with circular retainers.
The interior of the tunic, like the exterior, is near mint condition as well. The inside of the tunic's right flap has an ink stamped RB number 0/0850/0196, sizing, and depot code with year. Two belt hook adjustment straps are positioned on the sides of the tunic's interior, and are securely held in place.
Overall a mint condition totally genuine Afrika Korps M43 tunic, unlikely you'll find one better anytime soon!
